1st Day:
Introduction and overview of the Course from Prof. George Neofotistos and Dr. Sofoklis Sotiriou. Presentation of the participants. Keynote Speeches by Prof. F. Bogner (University of Bayreuth) and Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Tiemann (Humboldt-University of Berlin) [Lecture, 2 hours].
2nd Day:
Introduction to Technology Enhanced Learning and Learning Design – How teachers can benefit/Basic Principles of classroom management and curriculum (Riina Vuorikari, European Schoolnet) [Lecture, 1 hour].
Examples of developing technology enhanced learning designs for effective teaching [Lecture, 1 hour]
Using portals of interest for the participants to author educational scenarios [Workshop, 2 Hours].
3rd Day:
Metadata Practice: Searching and Retrieving Learning Objects from Learning Object Repositories. Using the portals to characterise and share digital learning content with educational metadata according to the IEE LOM Standard [Workshop, 2 hours].
Educational resources for astronomy education [Workshop, 2 hours].
Visit to the Skinakas Observatory (observations by the participants).
4th Day:
Visit to the Natural History Museum of Crete. Using social tagging tools to annotate science learning content [Workshop, 2 hours].
Exploitation of Web 2.0 and Social Software in learning and collaborative learning communities building [Workshop, 2 hours].
5th Day:
Finalising and publishing (uploading) the educational scenarios developed in the corresponding portals or own learning repository [Workshop, 2 hours].
Assessment of developed scenarios using social tags. [Workshop, 2 hours].
The issues of Copyright [Plenary Session].
6th Day:
Presentation of participants’ work and lesson study [Lecture/Demonstration, 2 Hours]; Conclusions, Evaluation of the Training Course [Workshop, 2 Hours]; Guidelines for follow-up activities, Closure.
